Feneos Korinthias
The plateau of Feneos spreads across the borders of the prefectures of Arcadia and Achaia and belongs to the prefecture of Corinth. Feneos is surrounded by the mountains of Kyllini (Ziria), Helmos & Ntourntouvana and has an abundance of forest trails, paths and dirt roads for anyone in the mood to surrender himself to nature and explore its little secrets!
Rich forests with sycamores, firs, pines, chestnuts, herbs, tea and oregano…A paradise for the senses!
You will be impressed by the spectacular panoramic views of Feneos village. The lower district is located at 930m. while the top reaches 1,100m. The ruins of the ancient city of Feneos are in close distance to the village and is arguably the most important archaeological site in the area.
Goura, Corinthia
At an altitude of 950 m., situated at the foot of Mount Kyllini, lies the picturesque village of Goura with its beautiful, traditional, stone buildings that date back to the 19th century. It is said that the area was named from the springs that gush water from the base of the rocky mountains. This is likely the most accurate scenario, though, rumor has it that the village is named after Goura John, chieftain of the Greek War of Independence.
If you want to enjoy a true taste of Corinthian tradition, try the traditional dishes cooked with seasonal, local ingredients and drink a cup of coffee at the sunlit patio of the splendid cobblestone square that travels you to another era!
